Performance events in Bold. Practices and regular FDC meetings are not included.  Venture Crew advancement programs, practices and leadership meetings not included.

 

Jan. 5-6           USV Annual Meeting at the Gettysburg Hotel.   Cassidys  and Nedrows will attend.  All are invited.  

 

Feb 4                Allagash River Training Session 2-4 pm  TBA

 

Feb. 23-25       Winter Cabin Camping with Troop 83 at Eagle Lodge, Seven Mountains Scout Camp near State College PA. 

 

March 8            Allagash River Training Session 2-4 PM TBA

 

March 10         Civil War Preservation Ball sponsored by the Victorian Dance Ensemble in the Main Rotunda of Pennsylvania’s Capitol, 3rd and State Sts Harrisburg. Venture Crew plays on the stairs as guests enter and at intermission. 7-10:00 PM.  Benefits the GBPA’s Pennsylvania Gettysburg Monument Fund.

 

April 8               Allagash River Training Session 2-4 PM TBA

 

May 5               Mayfest!  Maytown Historical Society, Maytown PA on the Square Saturday Afternoon

 

May 12-13         Allagash River ShakeDown Weekend TBA

 

May 26              Mountville VFW Memorial Day Parade, Saturday step off at 10:00 AM.

 

May 26-27        Allagash River Canoe Skills Weekend --for those who have not completed canoe training 

 

May 28            MEMORIAL DAY PARADES, etc.

·       Historic Kennett Square Memorial Day Parade-step off at 10:00 AM,

·       Union Cemetery Service immediately following parade, performance;

·       Lunch at the American Legion Post 491, 208 State St., Kennett Square

·       Venture Crew 1861 Court of Honor and refreshments between parades at the Cassidys'

·       Maytown American Legion Parade, Venture Crew 1861 leads off & carries the American Legion Post 809 Colors for this parade! Step-off 4:00 PM;

 

May 30           Memorial Day Service (Wednesday) Sons of Union Veterans of the Civil War, Camp 19.   GAR section of historic Lancaster Cemetery 

 

June 2-10       Allagash River Canoe Trip in Northern Maine -Venture Crew 1861 and Troop 83 ---High Adventure Scouting!

 

June 22-24     National Civil War Field Music School, Fort McHenry, Baltimore MD  http://www.nationalcivilwarfieldmusicschool.com/  (some members attended)

 

July 4-8         155th Anniversary Battle of Gettysburg We provide camp and field duties for the Union HQ and scheduled performances in Activities Tent  in the Sutler's area.  http://www.gettysburgreenactment.com/  

 

July 28-29     Civil War Days, Landis Valley Farm Museum,  Victorian Dance Demonstrations 10 AM- 4 PM  

 

August 2      Civil War Night, Senators Baseball, Harrisburg City Island  Civil War Color Guard and Fife & Drum Corps performing National Anthem

Nov. 16-18     Remembrance Day Weekend. Gettysburg PA  (Schedule to be determined)

·       Saturday     PRVC Memorial March at Little Roundtop 8:AM step-off

                   SUVCW Grand Parade. Step off at 1:00 PM Lefever St

                   SUVCW Civil War Ball. 8:00 PM (benifits Park preservation)

·       Sunday       Brunch followed by “Jam Session “Rock Concert” on Devils Den --Noon

 

Dec 1         Country Christmas Village Days at Landis Valley Farm Museum 9:30 AM-4 PM. Victorian Dance Demonstrations times 11AM, 1 & 3 PM

 

Dec 22       Civil War Christmas Ball at Landis Vally Farm Museum 7:00 - 10:00 PM.  Cost $20 at the door. (Discount for dance demonstration participants.)  Live band and food. March 30            Civil War Preservation Ball Pennsylvania’s Capitol Main Rotunda, 3rd & State Sts Harrisburg. Venture Crew plays on the Capitol steps as guests enter (abt. 6:15 PM) and at intermission. Sponsored by the Victorian Dance Ensemble to benefit the GBPA’s Pennsylvania Gettysburg Monument Project.

 

April  26-28 ?       Gettysburg Boy Scout Camporee Sponsored by Gettysburg Nat’l Park, Gettysburg Foundation & GBPA Daniel Lady Farm

 

May 11-12 ?         Colonial Williamsburg “Drummers Call”  FDC Muster (York Middle School goes every other year.)

 

May 19-20           Battle of New Market VA  (note: Cassidys cannot attend; it’s Patrick’s wedding weekend)
